This organization has an excellent reputation for its continuous involvement in the development of the Dominican community in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
Mrs Sylvia Smith Founder of The “Washington Heights Multi Cultural Center” Celebrated their 18th Annual Gala, in the Bronx ,honoring over 10 Women from Dominican Republic and Caribbean islands.
Our members are among the most respected, distinguished and active of the Dominican-American Community in the New York Tri-State area, as part of our activities, every year we celebrate, The Dominican’s Mother’s Day, we recognize the woman who have done and outstanding work, not only in the community but also as a mother.
Washington Heights Multi Cultural Center, represent The Dominican Republic for almost 18 years in the prestigious Parade Desfile De La Hispanidad on 5th Avenue, on the Month of October.
Many politicians were on hand which included Manhattan Borough president Gale Brewer, Senator Robert Jackson and many more local leaders. Community leader and advocate Alfredo Placeras.
Children dancers from Dominican Republic did a live performance in their native costumes and many more cultural Performances, close to 130 people were in attendance, enjoying the festivities.
This years event took place at Alianza Dominicana New York, The following guests were honored: Yuderka Tapia, Norma Campusano , Luis Facundo and many more community leaders.
