MiSK-UNDP Youth Forum at NY Plaza Hotel NYC-2017

The MiSK-UNDP Youth Forum  bought  together 400 individuals, including world leaders, UN representatives, young leaders, students, philanthropists and entrepreneurs.

The MiSK-UNDP Youth Forum is a call to action platform with the aim to create a path towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through fostering inter-cultural understanding, tolerance, mutual respect and an ethic of global citizenship and shared responsibility. The Forum will feature a full day of high-level panel discussions and collaborative workshops.

Hosted by Bloomberg, in partnership with the Alibaba Group; MiSK, the philanthropic foundation of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, and others, the Global Business Forum will convene heads of state, CEOs, and NGOs to work together to inspire and support economic prosperity.

Interview with Ibtihaj Muhammad Bronze Olympic Medalist in Rio in Fencing -2016

American sabre fencer, and a member of the United States fencing team. She is best known for being the first Muslim American woman to wear a hijab while competing for the United States in the Olympics. In individual sabre at the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won her first qualifying round bout, and was defeated in the second round by Cécilia Berder of France. She earned the bronze medal as part of Team USA in the Team Sabre, becoming the first female Muslim-American athlete to earn a medal at the Olympics.

 

She is best known for being the first woman to wear a hijab while competing for the United States in the Olympics. American-born and raised Sarah Attar had run in the 2012 Olympics with her hair covered, in keeping with a request that she do so to respect Islamic law by Saudi Arabia, for whom she ran on the basis of her father having been born in Saudi Arabia.

Muhammad became the first female Muslim-American athlete to earn a medal at the Olympics.She earned a bronze medal in the Team Sabre, along with Monica Aksamit, Dagmara Wozniak, and Mariel Zagunis, by defeating Italy 45-30 in the medal match. This came after defeating Poland 45-43, and losing to Russia 42-45.

Amal Sarieddine Shows her Signature Opulent Designs at Couture Fashion Week New York 2013

Award-winning Middle Eastern fashion designer Amal Sarieddine made her third appearance at Couture Fashion Week in New York City.
Amal Sarieddine is a young Lebanese fashion designer following in the footsteps of her mother, acclaimed designer Nawal Sarieddine, who established her own prominent design house some forty years ago. After earning her degree in fashion and interior design from the Lebanese American University, Amal launched her own collection in Beirut in 2004, a city synonymous with luxury couture style and home to such fashion icons as Elie Saab, Georges Chakra and Georges Hobeika. Amal’s designs were immediately applauded and sought out by the cream of Middle Eastern society including many celebrities and the royal families of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Her clientele also includes prominent socialites and celebrities from Europe and the United States.

A talented designer known for her lavish and opulent evening and bridal gowns, Amal Sarieddine has presented her collections in the Middle East, Paris and Hollywood. Her debut at Couture Fashion Week New York in 2009 with a stunning collection entitled “Eve”, was warmly received. Her designs have been featured in such prominent fashion publications as Collezioni Haute Couture, ModaStyle International and Book Moda.

Book Expo of America (BEA) 2013

Book Expo of America, the annual book industry trade show, provides booksellers with opportunities to network with colleagues, preview publishers’ upcoming titles, and discover new vendors. Programming for attendees includes a multitude of education and information sessions, as well as author breakfasts, lunches, and other special events.
