Couture Fashion Runway Shows Feb -2018

Andres Aquino’s semi-annual fashion shows at Couture Fashion Week New York are always a delightful spectacle of fashion, entertainment and fun. His designs have also been shown on the runways of major events in Dubai, Cannes, New Delhi, Bucharest, Atlanta, Chicago and Palm Beach, among others.

Andres Aquino’s fashion designs have been called “wearable couture” for their chic silhouettes and contemporary appeal.

Andres Aquino is the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week New York, one of the Big Apple’s most prestigious fashion week events.

CFW’s recent partnership with ZEE TV gives the event a truly global reach to over 1 billion viewers in over 170 countries. As the driving force behind this successful event, Mr. Aquino has been at the forefront in bringing many “firsts” to the New York fashion scene including being the first New York Fashion Week event to focus on couture vs others focusing on ready to wear; to incorporate fashion, film and tourism; to introduce and emphasize a strong ethnic diversity of models from all over the world; to introduce and emphasize the concept of healthy-looking models to promote a positive female image for young girls.

To focus on fashion shows for consumers in addition to trade and press; to incorporate theatrics and entertainers on a regular basis including top notch performers, singers and dancers from around the world; to film the event in state-of-the-art 3-D; to showcase a Muslim fashion designer with a luxury couture collection bridging traditional fashion boundaries; to present hand crafted fashions by designers from indigenous First Nations from North America; to attract many prominent international designers on a regular basis to show in New York.

Maria Elena Couture  showcased her new couture line Mimmo & Lola in combination with her latest luxury handbag designs, New Jersey-based designer Sumbul presented her latest impeccably crafted collection, New York-based designer Janelle Funari  presented the latest collection for her FUNARI label,

There were hundreds of people in attendance, with high entertainment, awards presentation and much more.

Keynote Speech by New York Mayor Bill De Blasio at Rainbow Push Coalition NYC-2018

Bill de Blasio was born on May 8, 1961 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA as Warren Wilhelm Jr. He has been married to Chirlane McCray since May 14, 1994. They have two children.

The 109th Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, came into office in 2014 determined to ensure that this city remains a place for everyone.

Mayor de Blasio will also continue to be an outspoken progressive voice on issues that touch the lives of his fellow New Yorkers, including: income inequality, early childhood education, immigration reform, infrastructure, and voting rights. These issues of basic fairness for every New Yorker have animated Mayor de Blasio’s life and career across three decades of activism and public service.

As New York City’s 109th mayor, Bill de Blasio is committed to fighting the income inequality that has created a ‘Tale of Two Cities’ across the five boroughs. Mayor de Blasio believes all New Yorkers deserve a chance to succeed in the greatest city on earth. That means every child gets a quality education, every community is safe, and every New Yorker has an affordable place to call home.

20th Annual Anniversary Luncheon for Rainbow Push Coalition NYC-2018

The Wall Street Project was founded in 1996 by Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., and the Citizenship Education Fund; it was officially launched by Rev. Jesse Jackson and prominent minority business owners on January 15, 1997, Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday.

The Wall Street Project challenges Corporate America to end the multi-billion dollar trade deficit with minority vendors and consumers, while working to ensure equal opportunities for culturally diverse employees, entrepreneurs and consumers.

“The Wall Street Project is not an end in itself,” says Rev. Jackson, “nor a means to an end. It is an evolutionary process by which we view people of color and women as ‘value added’ and a mutually beneficial proposition to American business.

“The road to shared economic security travels through two-way trade, where all are included, and none are left in the margins of the marketplace. Industry by industry, the quantifiable gaps in opportunity and in access to capital for people of color-owned businesses define our agenda.

“Just as America did not realize how good professional sports could be until athletes of all colors could play, American business will not maximize its growth potential until all businesses have an equal opportunity to compete on an even playing field, where the rules are public and the goals are clear.

That is the goal of the Wall Street Project.” The Wall Street Project uses Operation Breadbasket’s model of research, education, negotiation, and reconciliation to achieve its mission to promote inclusion, opportunity and economic growth by encouraging public and private industries.

Malan Breton (the designer) opened his first NYC retail shop following his training at Turnbull & Asser, and Scaasi. Malan Breton® HOMME (menswear) was introduced in 2010, and in 2016 Malan Breton® Bridal, Handbags, and Underwear. In 2016 for the European, and Asian market Breton introduced his line called Fantôme – Malan Breton.

The New York Times Travel Show -2018

This year’s Show, taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Center, will begin Friday, Jan. 26 with its Trade Day, which is open exclusively to travel industry professionals. The Travel Show will be open to the general public Saturday, Jan. 27, and Sunday, Jan. 28.

Celebrating its fifteenth year as the largest travel trade show in North America, this year’s programs will be moderated by New York Times journalists including Monica Drake, assistant managing editor and senior editor of travel; Sam Sifton, food editor; and many others.
