Also part of our Humanitarians of the World Inc ,Needy and  Homeless East Coast Tour -2018, we also presented  Tote bags with basic necessities, to over 10 veterans based in Orlando Florida. Most of them who we presented to were at Orlando Florida  VA Hospital , a state  of the art facilities.

We met many veterans who were in wars in Vietnam, Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq  and many more.

One by the name of Joe, who served in the Army at Afghanistan, came back after the war, he has a disease by the name of  Lou Gehrig’s Disease, he goes to the hospital on regular basis and has no family to help him with it.

He is living in one room at this time, and is getting very small benefits from the Government and coming to the hospital on a regular basis, he went on to say he has no life at this time.

Veteran from an Navy told us he was in the Gulf war, he told us that he sufferers  from Gulf War Syndrome, Veterans is a cluster of medically unexplained chronic symptoms that can include fatigue, headaches, joint pain, indigestion, insomnia, dizziness, respiratory disorders, and memory problems.He cannot sleep in the night ,he wakes up sweating and has nightmares almost every evening.

Carl a veteran from the Vietnam war with his family members , sufferers from Depressive Disorders , Depressive Disorders is the presence of sad, empty or irritable mood with somatic and cognitive changes which significantly affect an individual’s ability to function.

Carl told us ,his family is helping him fully ,which he is very happy about ,and he takes 20 pills a day for his different illnesses ,  and attends hospital 3 times a week he also had tried on 2 occasions ,try to kill his self because he felt that he did not want to be a burden on the family.

Ms T, told us she served in the Gulf War, and has depression, cannot sleep at  night ,and also lost her right leg , and is waiting to get an metal leg to fit her leg, as she was on clutches, once I get my new leg then I can walk and do activities, she sounded very upbeat about this.

I have to say hearing these stories, I came to an conclusion that these Veterans have many issues, and the Government needs to do more to help them, as they went to war to protect our country.
