Colombian Day Parade Jackson Heights -2024

BY: Adal Hussain, Chief  Editor for World Liberty TV, @ Northern Boulevard Queens NY, Sun July 21st 2024

Jackson Heights come alive with Colombia’s vibrant colors, sounds, and spirit on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

The Colombian Day Parade marches along Northern Blvd from 69th Street in Jackson Heights to 89th Street in Corona.

This annual celebration marks Colombian Independence Day was filled with cultural pride and community festivities.

Hundreds of Colombian Americans danced through the streets of Jackson Heights, Queens on Sunday for the annual Colombian Independence Day Parade.

It’s a celebration of more than 200 years of independence from Spanish rule., “Celebrate the freedom of Colombia. Our people are really happy,” Jackson Heights, NY. resident Jose Suarez told WLTV.

The roots of Colombian Independence Day trace back to a pivotal moment in history. Amidst colonial rule, Latin America, including Colombia, faced oppression under a strict caste system imposed by Spanish rulers.

The struggle for independence gained momentum in the early 19th century, fueled by events like Napoleon’s invasion of Spain and the imprisonment of King Ferdinand VII.

Leaders like Simón Bolívar rallied the people in their fight for freedom, culminating in the historic Battle of Boyacá in 1819.

The Colombian flag, with its bold yellow, blue, and red colors, symbolizes the nation’s rich resources, seas, rivers, and the blood shed by patriots in the quest for independence.

The Colombian community in Jackson Heights and Corona embraces their heritage while looking towards a future of inclusivity and progress, echoing Bolívar’s belief that freedom is for all people, regardless of race, origin, or status.

Hundreds marched in the Colombian day parade, many political leaders were on hand, which included: Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Senator Jessica Ramos, New York Assembly Member, Jessica González-Rojas, was the Madrina of the parade.

Other policical leaders in attendance included: Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz, Hiram Monserrate, Democratic District Leader Assembly District 35 and Ismael Malave candidate for New York City Comptroller.

Humanitarians of the World Inc.’s Bangkok Orphan Presentation-2024

We traveled to Bangkok, Thailand in July-2024, We took gifts for close to 100 children. As we spoke to the person in charge of the orphanage.

Her name was Bussaba, who has worked with many of the children, we asked her what was the main reason, for a lot of the children given up for adoption and living in the Orphanage.

She went on to tell us, that the men were getting a lot of the women, pregnant, at a very young age and then running away.

Then the young woman is left with the child and she is not working and cannot support them, her parents tell here to give the child to orphanage who can take care of him. While they have no money and cannot take care of the children.

When asked what percentage of the Children that are in the orphanage, do when they get older, Bussaba, went on to say a very small percentage of them, find a job or do something in life.

A lot of the girls get involved in the Sex trade, when they get a little older. Since they come from broken families and don’t have the Love of a mother or Father, they eventually get involved in something that is not good.

I told Bussaba, we were so sorry to hear, this, we gave gifts to close to 100 Children, who just attended school and were getting ready to head back to the Orphanage.

We also gave her money to buy additional gifts for an additional 100 Children who were part of the orphanage.

Great Temples of Bangkok Thailand -2024

We had a great pleasure visiting some of the most iconic temples located in Bangkok Thailand, we had the pleasure of visiting, the following Temples below:

Grand Palace & Buildings in Bangkok Thailand: The Supreme Grand Palace’) is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The king, his court, and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925.

In the present time, The Royal Family resides at Chitralada Palace while The Grand Palace is used for ceremonial purposes. Located at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, the Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom.

Rather than being a single structure, the Grand Palace is made up of numerous buildings, halls, pavilions set around open lawns, gardens and courtyards. Its asymmetry and eclectic styles are due to its organic development, with additions and rebuilding being made by successive reigning kings over 200 years of history.

Wat Pho in Bangkok – The Temple of the Reclining Buddha: It is on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. … Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon.

Wat Pho is our absolute favorite among Bangkok’s biggest sights. In fact, the compound incorporates a host of superlatives: the city’s largest reclining Buddha, the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand and the country’s earliest center for public education.

Wat Pho is one of the top six temples in Thailand and is famous for the huge statue of the Reclining Buddha.

By huge, we mean so big it looks like the temple was built around it because there’s really no way it could have been squeezed through the door.

Wat Pho (more fully Wat Phracheatupon Vimonmungkraram) is the “Temple of the Reclining Buddha”. It is the one of the pagodas in Thailand.

It is the largest temple in Bangkok, and home of Thailand’s largest Buddha. It is the temple where the art of Thai massage was developed.

The Golden Mount (Wat Saket) Temple Bangkok: This temple is known for the Golden Mount or Phu Khao Thong, a high hill that offers stunning views at its summit over Rattanakosin Island.

The story of the Golden Mount begins during the late 1700s and early 1800s when King Rama III decided to build a massive stupa. Unfortunately, the king’s ambitious project collapsed shortly after its construction due to the soft soil being unable to support the weight of the structure.

Visitors are required to dress appropriately. Sandals and scarves cover the shoulders are allowed. These following clothes are strictly not allowed as outer garments for both ladies and gentlemen: Short shorts, mini-skirts, short skirts, torn jeans, see through, vests, tight fitting trousers or leggings.

We hope in one day the Jungle in Thailand will be good enough for Tigers and safe for people, no hunters, TIGERS can go back in the wild. But NOW we have to help to SAVE TIGERS, SAVE NATURAL.

Is it safe to visit Tiger Park Pattaya? Yes, it is safe to visit Tiger Park Pattaya, as the tigers are well-trained and supervised by experienced trainers. Visitors are also instructed on how to interact with the tigers safely.

Tigers like most animals are afraid of fire. Big cat ‘tamers’ have used fire for generations to keep tigers at bay. They are also afraid of unfamiliar sounds and noises.

If the tiger begins to physically attack, it is unlikely to stop. Continue making as much noise as possible, and use whatever you have to shield yourself and strike back in self-defense.

Avoid playing dead; if the tiger is attacking out of an interest in eating you, it will simply proceed unencumbered.
