Kathy Hochul is the 57th and first female Governor of New York State.
Governor Kathy Hochul began her career in public service on her local Town Board before serving as Erie County Clerk, and then as a member of Congress for New York’s 26th Congressional District. She more recently served in statewide office as Lieutenant Governor and now as the first female Governor of the State of New York.
Lieutenant Governor : As Lieutenant Governor from 2015 to 2021, Hochul successfully spearheaded numerous initiatives and lead the administration’s economic development and job creation efforts across the state, working every day to advocate for policies that help all New Yorkers make ends meet.
She also helped New York State manage the COVID-19 pandemic response, while focusing on a recovery that builds back better and more inclusive. Hochul chaired the statewide Regional Economic Development Councils that have transformed the state’s economy by building upon regional strengths through long-term strategic plans.
She also served as co-chair of the State’s Heroin and Opioid Task Force to hear from experts and community members in search of answers to the opioid crisis and develop a comprehensive strategy for New York.
As Lieutenant Governor, she championed the ‘Enough is Enough’ law to prevent sexual assault on college campuses, spearheaded the State’s Paid Family Leave program, and worked to eliminate the gender wage gap, expand access to affordable child care, and combat sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace and beyond.
She served as chair of the State’s Women’s Suffrage Commission and co-chair of the State’s Child Care Availability Task Force.
In Congress ,From 2011 to 2013, Hochul served in the U.S. House representing New York’s 26th Congressional District. Then Congresswoman Hochul served on the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, traveling to Afghanistan to confer with military leaders and meet with active duty men and women. Her focus in Congress was job creation and bridging the skills gap by bringing together business and academia, and creating opportunities for returning veterans.

She served as liaison to the local economic development agency and worked to attract new businesses and create jobs following the loss of the Western New York manufacturing base.
Hochul holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a law degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She began her legal career working at a large firm in Washington, D.C. and later served as legal counsel and legislative assistant to Congressman John LaFalce and Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. She was instrumental in drafting legislation related to campaign finance reform, immigration reform and combatting drug abuse.
In 2006, Hochul joined her mother and aunt in establishing the Kathleen Mary House, a transitional home for victims of domestic violence.

“It’s going to be an exciting event to motivate Democratic voters,” Jay Jacobs, the New York State Democratic Party chairman, promised. “We’ve got to begin to energize our party.”
But beyond Clinton’s appearance — which may signal a more significant public presence for the former first lady and two-time White House hopeful — a long lineup of heavy-hitting Democrats is expected to descend on Midtown.
State Attorney General Letitia James, who is running for reelection held a reception on Wednesday evening, according to a tentative schedule.
Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the No. 5 House Democrat, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are on tap to speak, too.
And Gov. Hochul, whose election campaign is buffeted by challenges from her right and left, is expected to cap the convention with a speech after Clinton around 3 p.m. on Thursday.
The speech will be focused on party unity, said Jerrel Harvey, Hochul’s campaign spokesman.
In the spring gubernatorial primary, Hochul hopes to top Rep. Tom Suozzi, a Long Island moderate, and city Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, a Brooklyn progressive.
Hochul, a former congresswoman from Buffalo, assumed the state’s top government post in August after Gov. Andrew Cuomo, facing a mountain of sexual harassment allegations, resigned in disgrace.
The governor holds commanding leads in the campaign, according to polling, but the race is still taking shape. Hochul is running to become the first woman elected New York’s governor.
She was endorsed Monday by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, the second woman to represent the state in the U.S. Senate. Clinton was the first.
In the gubernatorial race, Williams has the backing of the left-wing Working Families Party and New York Communities for Change, an advocacy group.
Suozzi’s campaign said he would announce his running mate on Wednesday morning in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a potential opportunity to add credibility to a campaign that has yet to get off the ground.
“No one will work harder for the people of the Empire State,” Hillary Clinton declared in the keynote address at the convention in Midtown Manhattan. “She is a governor for all of us.”
Hochul, a moderate from Buffalo, has proved popular in the early months of her administration, and has established yawning early polling leads in the primary. Jay Jacobs, the state Democratic Party chairman, suggested the governor has drawn benefits from her personality.
“She’s a nice person,” Jacobs said from the stage of the convention. “She cares about people.”
The Other Candidates that were nominated were: Sen. Charles Schumer, State Attorney General Letitia James, Brian Benjamin, for Lieutenant Governor and Thomas P. DiNapoli for New York State Comptroller.

Adrian Alicea is a new romantic of romantic excesses. Creating a pirate-like fairy-tale of disguises, he walks a tightrope between ironic hedonistic inclination and highly serious commentary. There is an insane carcinogenic, merciless narcissism. There is a deafening, endless shout
of “gimme more!” – Earl Murray. Adrian’s inspiration comes from his strong familial roots in Puerto Rico. The essence of his beautiful mother is etched into every design. Mr. Alicea was also blessed with nine sisters of whom have provided him with the depth of understanding the female form. The fact that he also has real human frailties make him greater than is realized by those who are not able to see through the fog of adulation. His human experience transcends into an emotional confluence felt by every being that adorns his designs. Having been a model himself, he was first discovered at the iconic nightclub “The Tunnel” by Rae Dawn Chong who invited him to walk for Thierry Mugler’s couture show in Paris.
From there his career took off and with persistent effort continued working with the masters of Europe: Hermes, Giorgio Armani, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Gianfranco Ferre, Vivienne Westwood, and Patricia Fields and graced the stage with notable supermodels Iman, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Debra Shaw, Veruschka von Lehndorff, to name a few. Adrian Alicea has also been featured on the cover of Italian Vogue and has had editorial spreads in major publications like Vibe. He’d eventually tour the world as a professional dancer alongside the legendary Willi Ninja and Grace Jones. This led to two electrifying performances in “Deep in Vogue” and “Waltz Darling” by the multi-talented Malcolm McClaren. He is currently featured in the CAMP Expedition at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Manhattan, New York and was presented with the Emerging New Designer Award at the Cinema Film Fashion Awards 2017, Beverly Hills, California alongside Akon, Sidney Poitier and Samuel L. Jackson. Adrian has styled and dressed the likes of many A List celebrities. Larisa Martine, of whom shared the stage with Grammy Award Winner, Joshua Bell at the 60th Lincoln Center Anniversary hosted by Neil Patrick Harris wore one of his stunning designs. He has also dressed and styled celebrities like Zoe Saldana and Nick Cannon.
The House Of Alicea was born out of his life-time love affair with Avant-garde fashion and the purest freedom of an artist. Adrian sews from hand like a sculptor as he shapes and molds each fabric to fit the human form with such care to the ornate details he creates in each design. The fashion industry has become commercial and lackluster at best with mass-produced designs. Adrian Alicea has a style all his own that is unique and filled with the power to transform this industry back to a time when living breathing artistic beauty of all forms graced the stage. Dani Threads: is an upcoming fashion designer Born and raised in Brooklyn as a second generation seamstress, I’m proud to be continuing a passion that was passed down to me from my mother. Exposed early to fashion, I started designing costumes for a local non-profit school program as a way to support my community. Later while obtaining my fashion degree, I became enamored with lingerie, which sparked the foundation for my business. What I ultimately found was that even though the lingerie market is expansive, it was lacking in products for petite women.
In pursuit of my passion, I started Danithreads. Continuing in my family’s footsteps, I make custom handmade costumes and lingerie. I specialize in petite sizes (00-2 / XXS-S), but welcome all body types. I believe every woman can dress luxuriously without breaking the bank, so feel free to call or email for inquires. Art Hearts Fashion shows were absolutely brilliant, spread over 3 days at the Iconic Ziegfield Ballroom, also showing of Art alongside many famous and upcoming artists, money was raised for Northwell Health to build a hospital for people with mental disabilities. The Show had a little bit of everything. I would go ahead and say it was one of the best Shows of Feb 2022, well organized, staff and volunteers were very highly professional.
