John J.Shalam Chairman and Founder Voxx International Corp-2015

John J. Shalam, founded Audiovox Corporation (now VOXX International Corp) in 1965 and was elected Chairman of the Board in May 2005. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of VOXX International (or its predecessor) from 1960 through May 2005.

Shalam was instrumental in building his company from a marketer of one of the world’s first in-dash auto sound systems, to a major player in the cellular industry, to a leader in consumer electronics. He is a significant force within the realm of mergers and acquisitions. Shalam was at the helm in 1987 when the company went public and serves today in an advisory capacity.

Shalam leads an active life outside of Audiovox as a member of The Wharton Club of New York and the University of Pennsylvania’s Benjamin Franklin Society. He is a life member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, Officer of La Chaíne des Rótisseurs (N.Y. Chapter), member of the Ordre Mondial Du Vin, Fondateur de L’ Académie Brillat-Savarin, and Past President and Director of the Old Westbury Horsemen’s Foundation.

Shalam is also active in the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, where he serves on the Board of Industry Leaders (BIL), and is chairman of CEA’s Investment Committee as well as chairman of CEA charitable foundation. He was instrumental in helping CEA become an active participant in the Wireless Communications Industry, establishing the Wireless Communications Division in 2001 and acting as its first and founding chairman. Shalam was inducted into the CEA Hall of Fame in October 2009. In 1997, he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Snail Games, the parent company to LA-based Snail Games USA, has been a dominant figure in the Chinese gaming industry for over a decade. As the gaming landscape continues to change and the importance of mobile grows, Snail has set its sights on developing new concepts in gaming hardware and services, a peek at which it will allow this January.

Key to its innovation strategy is the integration of software, hardware and services. Snail has already made the move into telecom, providing network services in China since early 2014. Snail has developed specialized data packages for mobile gaming, with free data and special rewards when used together with certain apps from Snail’s large library of mobile games.

This combination of content publishing and development with telephony services, along with the enhanced experience of gaming hardware designed by Snail, has been a successful model in China, and is one Snail looks to bring to the US. Taking the first step on this path, Snail will reveal its latest cutting edge hardware at CES. International CES 2015 Showcase at Las Vegas-2015

The 2015 International CES was the largest and most amazing CES in show history. This year’s show broke all records as innovators across the show floor unveiled products and services to solve world problems and improve lives.

The 2015 CES wrapped as the largest show in history with more than 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space featuring more than 3,600 exhibitors, including a record number of startups. Innovators showcased the latest technologies across categories like automotive electronics, personalized health care solutions, unmanned vehicles, connected devices, 3D printers and gaming. As the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, more than 170,000 industry professionals, including more than 45,000 from outside the U.S., convened to engage in the hands-on experience of interacting with the next generation of technology.
